Brau Union Österreich – as part of Heineken Group – has ambitious net-zero targets which also affect logistics operations. Thus, ambitious sustainable logistics measures are needed to reduce transport emissions towards net zero.
Our solution
denkstatt – together with our partner Gregori Consulting – worked with Brau Union in two strategy workshops, with a focus on:
- Operationalisation of sustainability objectives
- Analysis of the regulatory, technological, and market environment
- Analysis of solutions and best practices
- Co-creation of measures to avoid, shift and improve trips to reduce transport emissions
The identified measures were then prioritized and put into a roadmap for implementation. Moreover, KPIs and a monitoring structure were discussed, measures were screened regarding potential subsidies, and the implementation of several actions was initialized.
Client benefit
Brau Union received implementation-oriented expert input on drivers, best practices, and solutions for sustainable logistics and has a comprehensive roadmap with prioritized measures across various fields of action. The next steps towards the implementation of the most promising areas to shift and improve transport were already initiated during the project.
